Imagine a whole world with a tool like PlanGrid!

Plangrid is very intuitive and easy to use from the get go. Just looking at the opening screen, you can easily tell how to navigate it.

Much easier to find key annotations.

Paper plans goodbye! Auto hyper linking, auto versioning, and now sheet overlay!?!? When is auto-building coming out? Only kidding! This has given me the time to focus on more of the building on my job site rather than tedious paperwork. I never build off of the wrong construction documents

This tool is not only the best one that I have used for project collaboration it is also the least expensive and easiest to manage. The project I am working on right now will be the first one that I have done entirely in plan grid (Unfortunately I still have paper for the old guys). Many of our subcontractors are using plan grid and taking advantage of the up to the minute updates to the drawings that we put out. The new sheet compare feature is the biggest improvement, we are able to coordinate multiple trades right on the iPad, in the field!

PlanGrid does so much, but is so simple to use!

PlanGrid has paid for itself by saving my team time! The amount of time and paper saved by switching to PG has been incredible. We are able to quickly collaborate on all of our blueprints similar to how I collaborate with my team on google drive for excel style spreadsheets. Everyone invited to the blueprints can see real time changes so were all always working on the current set. I also like how they let you have a free trial...

PlanGrid is the best and only app to use when it comes to field coordination and document management. The app is easy to use for even the most technologically challenged team members. If you do have a question, PlanGrids customer support is the best and always responsive and happy to help!

Wont do projects without it anymore. Just not worth it.

Felt compelled to write this review, don’t write too many. This app is one of the primary reasons I decided to jump on the iPad Pro. Keep in mind, I’m talking a $1,500 device (cellular model, case, pencil, tax)…that is how important this has become in my workflow. I use a plethora of apps/services that all increase my efficiency (Omnifocus, Evernote, Slack, Box, Skitch, etc) but this trumps them all. I run a construction/RE development firm, and this ALMOST eliminates my need for paper. Takeoff is still superior on paper. However….the fact that this can replace all other needs is crazy. I’m not sure if this feature was just released, or I just noticed, but the “Compare Sheets” feature is something that even my Architects are blown away by. Within the past 2w, this feature helped point out a sheet revision that both myself and my super overlooked (a 2’ variation on a grade beam). Though I like to think we/our sub would have noticed this, the red/blue line sheet comparison made this evident in a matter of seconds (and possibly saved us thousands had we missed this…). A few of our favorite features: - Custom Layers. We set up layers for each project based on CSI MF level 1 cost codes, and can track each team members contribution throughout the project. Awesome. - Sheet Comparison. I touched on this above….one “almost” slip, where this saves the day, and trust me you’ll forever love it -Callout Tag Linking (annotation tags auto link to the respective sheet). Cool! - Sharing. This and Sheet Comparison our top use cases. It is incredibly easy to zoom in, annotate a section, and email off a quick jpeg to the less to appropriate parties. This makes RFI’s, collaboration, etc. super quick. -Side note: If this stupid Apple Pencil ever comes in stock, I’m anxious to try it out in this app! Until then, no comment. Bottom line: If you are in the construction industry, and deal with revisions (who doesn’t) this has the potential to change your CM/PM’s ability to communicate/collaborate, and wow clients. Thanks to the team for making a great product! P.S - get the API out! We want to integrate!

I run a small subcontracting firm - we were running into trouble with all the new drawings that were coming out and we had no way to keep track of everything. We started using PlanGrid and all of a sudden we were out performing all of the other sub teams. Our GC saw what we were doing and immediately made it the standard job wide.

Am using on large multi-family housing project to help manage construction activity from Owners perspective. Construction drawings include about 325 sheets plus the supporting materials. Not using as a collaborative tool with the project team as that is simply too complex for what I am doing. The primary benefit of this system is speed of access (am using an iPad with all documents locally stored). Most other services require robust (e.g. NOT cellular) Internet access which on construction sites is rarely available. Having individual sheets locally stored is massively faster than having to slog through 200 MB PDF files that contain every sheet and require constant downloading while in the field. I can annotate issues in various ways (drawing markups, photos etc.) then distribute them to other parties, and keep track of how the issue is resolved.

This App has made developing and completing punch list very easy. With the notes and pictures in the palm of your hand there is no question on what needs to be completed or repaired. All of a sudden everyone is on the same page. Projects are completed quicker and easier making project close out a dream.

This app is so intuitive. It is fast. It is clear and concise.

Everything you need...plans, provisions, material submittals, shop drawings, field work directives, design changes and so on...all in a nicely organized app. I cant imagine not using PlanGrid on a project...Id be lost! The new compare sheet feature is cool. Designers, have to position drawing in same location as prior sheet or compare feature will not be helpful. I work on mostly civil jobs, roads, bridges and usually one plan sheet will show water from STA x+00 to xx+00 and the storm sewer on a different sheet with the same stationing, but if the plan view is not placed in the same location on the plans sheets the compare feature will not overlay properly. PlanGrid, maybe you can allow us to grab the top layer an move so the area we want to compare can truly be over one another.

PlanGrid has changed how my team and I communicate, track, and update information in the field. Love this app. No more paper, ever.

This program/app is great if you only use as a crude punchlist tool, but its infuriating trying to draw even a few markups and annotations. Number one, no UNDO button in the tool bar. Sometimes you draw a simple element and need to drag it- but often it will elongate instead of drag, and you cant undo so its delete and remake. It is also hard to select one object in a group of objects and if you guess wrong and delete the wrong object that sucker is gone forever. Dimensions scale very badly when drawings are scaled out or in sheet view. Im not asking for a CAD program but the tools need to get their game on.

By far one of the best, most user friendly construction apps on the market. Even the seasoned guys the ones that "Prefer a paper set" can jump right in and understand how it works within a couple hours. I have some of the seasoned supers showing the younger guys how to work plangrid. Its amazing!
